Wellington

During 2012, the Port of Wellington – better known as CentrePort – welcomed 872 ships, and 25,349 seafarers visited the Seafarers’ Centre.

At CentrePort, the Apostleship of the Sea (AoS) operates with a cooperative ecumenical effort involving the Mission to Seafarers and the British Sailors Society.

The 2014 earthquake destroyed the Seafarers’ Centre.

Ship visiting takes place all year. Additionally, from October – May a temporary seafaring centre operates out of Shed 52.

AoS Wellington has 9 active volunteers.
